Makes 1 ornament

CINNAMON DOUGH ORNAMENTS

Materials:

Various cookie cutters

Drinking straw

Plastic wrap

1 recipe cinnamon dough

1 cup unsweetened applesauce

1 1/2 cups ground cinnamon

2 tablespoons white glue

Various colors of fabric paint

1/2" width ribbon, approximately 6-8” long for each ornament

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 200F

Combine all cinnamon dough ingredients and knead until it is the consistency of dough (you may need to add more applesauce or cinnamon, as required)

Roll out dough to 1/4" to 1/2" thick between two sheets of plastic wrap

Remove the top layer of plastic wrap and cut out shapes using the cookie cutters

Use a straw to cut a hole out of the top of each cookie shape for hanging

Place on ungreased baking tray and bake for two and a half hours

Remove and let cool

Decorate with white fabric paint

Thread a length of ribbon through the hole at the top of each cookie and tie a bow or a knot for hanging
